Hair Shampoo for Head Lice

Pharmacology:
Follicel is a Phytoceutical derived from the complex processing of Citrus Extracts.
Ingredients: Orange Extract, Citric Acid, Yucca Schidegra, and Glycerin.
The citrus extracts are processed for the polysaccharide properties, these polysaccharides have an effect upon the mucous in the louse's airways and also their digestive flora.. The Yucca Schidegra in the formula leaves the hair soft and aids in the removal of lice and nits.
The pH of undiluted Follicel is 3.0 - 5.0.
There are currently no known resistance issues.

Indications (Directions):
For application on hair with head lice and nits (eggs).
Wash hair with a non-conditioning, non-detangling shampoo or preferably a mild liquid soap.
Rinse shampoo from hair. Apply Follicel to hair and distribute well.
Cover hair with towel or preferably a shower cap for 20 minutes. Rinse Follicel out of hair.
Comb out lice and nits. May be applied again at anytime.
Check hair after 7 days and reapply if necessary.

Product Performance:
A market acceptance test of 22,000 units sold during a 12 month period in a UK test area revealed 19 product complaints of which 17 were traced to the prior use of conditioning hair shampoos. Two complaints were unresolved.

Product performance complaints are almost always attributable to the following.
- Use of a shampoo that uses conditioning agents such as conditioners, detanglers or body builders. These conditioners (waxes) create a protective coating on the lice and eggs.
The best solution is to use a mild liquid soap or stripping shampoo to wash the hair
- Hard water impedes the wetability and distribution of Follicel to lice and eggs.
Try replacing the hard water with bottled water.

Eye Contact - May cause minor irritation. Flush with copious quantities of water.
Ingestion - May Neutralize gut Bacteria. Drink copious amounts of water.

Dosage Adults and Children:
100ml of Follicel is sufficient for 2-4 applications depending on length and thickness of hair.
