How do you use Follicel?

Follicel is a simple 30 minute solution.

- Wash hair, preferably using a mild liquid soap.
- Rinse hair thoroughly, do not dry.
- Apply Follicel directly to the scalp and massage in until hair is saturated.
- Wrap hair in a shower cap or towel for 20 minutes of contact time.
- Lightly rinse hair.
- Comb out lice and nits.

Note: Avoid shampoos that have conditioners, body builders, detanglers, etc. in them.
Note: Avoid hard water.

Do's and Don'ts

- Do use a good quality neutral non conditioning shampoo or preferably a mild liquid soap.
Note: If you have used a hair shampoo that conditions, removes tangles, builds body etc. in the last 7 - 10 days you may need to use a deep cleansing shampoo to remove the wax build up before using Follicel. The wax coats (protects) the nits and their adhesion to the hair shaft. A second treatment should be done in 7 days.
- Don't use hard water.
Virtually all unsatisfactory treatments can be traced back to hair conditioners, hard water or improper application.
- Do rinse out the soap or shampoo thoroughly with warm water.
- Do apply Follicel to the scalp in several places (12+) by parting the hair and pouring Follicel directly onto the scalp and massaging Follicel from the scalp out through all the hair. Lice live very close to the scalp.
- Don't leave any place for those little critters to hide.
- Do wrap the hair in a towel or plastic shower cap for 20 minutes.
- Do lightly rinse out most of the Follicel but not all. (Residual effect)
- Do use a nit comb to comb out the lice and nits.
- Do a follow up check or treatment in seven days.
- Do expect that sometimes a second treatment is needed with heavy infestations or in very long or thick hair.
